National Convention Social Media & Photographer Intern Application – CLOSED
We are seeking dedicated Sigma Alpha sisters who are passionate about our sorority, skilled in social media engagement or photography, and eager to share their creativity and ideas to help us increase our online reach. This is a unique opportunity to serve as an ambassador for Sigma Alpha, capturing and sharing the spirit of sisterhood, professional growth, and excitement that define our national gathering. Those who are an active member of Sigma Alpha Sorority in good standing, registered and attending the 2025 National Convention in Norfolk, VA, demonstrates interest or experience in social media management, content creation, or photography, and anyone with enthusiasm for promoting Sigma Alpha’s mission, values, and sisterhood.

New Opportunity- Chapter Success Coach Program
Empower chapters, grow leaders, and make a lasting impact– from wherever you are!
The Chapter Success Coach Program is a dynamic alumnae volunteer opportunity designed to support the growth and success of Sigma Alpha collegiate chapters. Chapter Success Coaches serve as mentors, helping chapter leaders develop and implement strategic goals, track progress through Chapter Development Plans, and bring Sigma Alpha’s Pillar Framework to life in meaningful, actionable ways.
This flexible, virtual role is ideal for alumnae who want to give back to the Sorority while continuing their own professional development journey. Coaches are matched with chapters to provide monthly guidance, motivation, and accountability, and they receive a small stipend and personal coaching in return. Other Volunteer Opportunities
Pillar Award Judge – Virtual
- Reading pillar reports and providing feedback to the chapters to help them grow and improve.
- Time Commitment: 6-10 hours, over a 3-week period in December/January
- Skills Needed: Computer Access + Function, Critical Thinking, Decision Making
Application Based Awards Judge – Virtual
- Reading application-based award submissions (outstanding senior, leader, advisor, social media, etc.) and providing feedback to the members to help them grow and improve.
- Time Commitment: 4-6 hours, over a 2-week period in April/May
- Skills Needed: Computer Access + Function, Professional and Critical Thinker
Pillar Award Judge – In Person (Convention)/ Virtual (Conclave)
- Listening to pillar award presentations from each region and providing feedback to the chapters to help them grow and improve.
- Time Commitment: two days in July/August
- Skills Needed: Computer Access + Function, Critical Thinking, Decision Making, Public Speaking
Convention Keynote Speaker – In Person
- Create a motivating presentation applicable to either collegiate or/and alumna members and present at convention.
- Time Commitment: one day in July/August
- Skills Needed: Public Speaking, Motivational, and Interactive
Convention Facilitators
- Create a presentation applicable to either collegiate or/and alumna members and present at convention.
- Time Commitment: 1-2 days in July/August
- Skills Needed: Public Speaking, Motivational, and Interactive
Guest Writers
- Produce content for Sigma Alpha Sorority – articles for Emerald Times or other pertinent programing.
- Time Commitment: Dependent on content
- Skills Needed: Written communication skills and understanding of AP Style.
National Chapter Visit Host
- Host a Chapter Consultant (CC) in your home and provide a safe environment for CC to rest and decompress. Must live within 25 minutes of an active Sigma Alpha Chapter.
- Time Commitment: three days
- Skills needed: Home location within 25 minutes of an active Sigma Alpha Chapter. Welcoming and friendly.
Webinar Speaker
- Create a presentation applicable to either collegiate or/and alumna members and present in a virtual webinar.
- Time Commitment: two hours for presentation, plus whatever preparation is needed.
- Skills Needed: Technology Literate, Expert in Field, Public Speaking
National Sorority Board
- Oversee the Sorority’s national operations and management in accordance with the National Bylaws, policies and procedures. Provide guidance to collegiate and alumnae chapters. Facilitate bonds of sisterhood between members. Serve as representatives of Sigma Alpha at sorority, industry and affiliated association events. Positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Collegiate Membership Director, Professional Development Director, Development Director, Communications Director, and Outreach Director. Specific position descriptions can be found in the National Sorority Board Handbook
- Time Commitment: two-year terms, weekly hours depending on position.
- Skills needed: Time Management, Communication, Navigating Travel, Meeting Organization, Strategic Planning, Enhancing the Sorority, Networking, Exposure to more Agriculture
