Alumnae Benefits and Engagement Opportunities

Sigma Alpha Sorority is only as strong as its members. As an organization committed to lifelong sisterhood, active membership evolves as sisters transition from collegians to alumnae. Alumnae members are in a position to give back to the organization that helped them to grow as professionals and as sisters.

Alumnae can continue to be involved in a variety of ways on a national and/or local level. Alumnae involvement allows sisters to not only continue to grow on their journey and sisterhood experience but can also enhance and strengthen the experience of collegiate sisters both now and for years to come. Whether Alumnae choose to be involved on a local level, on a national level or both, is up to the individual.

Nationally, Alumnae can serve the Sorority through key volunteer roles, such as an elected National Sorority Board member, a Chapter Consultant, a national committee member, or a speaker/workshop facilitator for national programs including Ignite Conference and National Convention. Locally, Alumnae can affiliate with a local Alumnae chapter and/or volunteer their time, skills, experience and support to collegiate chapters as speakers, advisors or mentors.

Alumnae Chapters offer opportunities to continue to grow and share with local sisters while networking with fellow alumnae who are living careers in a wide variety of agricultural fields. Don’t see a chapter in your area? Contact the National Sorority to see how to get started.

Ignite Conferences offer opportunities for personal and professional development, along with networking with other Sigma Alpha Sisters across the nation. Additionally, there are opportunities to become an Ignite Coach and serve on the planning committee for content development.

National Convention is a great opportunity for networking, sisterhood and leadership development. Through various speakers, workshops and breakout sessions sisters are provided opportunities to refine their own skill sets, which is valuable at any stage of your professional career. Aside from sessions, there are opportunities to mentor collegiate sisters, network with other alumnae and volunteer in various capacities. Additionally, through sponsorship relations there are plenty of career network building opportunities available.
