The Spirit of Ruth Award recognizes Sigma Alpha alumnae whose lives reflect the courage, loyalty, service, and steadfast determination embodied by Ruth.
Ruth was faithful in the face of uncertainty. She worked diligently, served selflessly, remained devoted to those she loved, and courageously stepped forward without knowing where the path would lead. In doing so, she built a legacy far greater than she could have imagined.

Recipients demonstrate these same qualities through their involvement, leadership, and commitment to Sigma Alpha, their communities, and the field of agriculture. They embody our four pillars – Scholarship, Leadership, Fellowship, and Service, while leading with integrity, strengthening others, and creating lasting impact. Each year, two alumnae will receive the Spirit of Ruth Award. Each recipient will be recognized at a designated Ignite Conference.

Nominate a sister for the Spirit of Ruth Award today! Nominations may be submitted by any alumna of Sigma Alpha Sorority and should demonstrate how the nominee has served as a role model through outstanding contributions or exceptional service benefiting Sigma Alpha, the agricultural community, or both.
