National Awards

The Sigma Alpha Sorority National Awards program recognizes outstanding achievements and dedicated leadership of individual sisters and chapters. The program creates opportunities for chapters to spotlight their successful programs, share the impact they are having in communities, and recognize members who uphold the pillars of the organization. Award recipients are chosen based on the evaluation of required chapter/member reports, specific applications, and/or virtual presentations. Chapters are encouraged to review the criteria and deadlines for each award, along with past award recipients below, and start their applications today!

Spirit of Ruth Award

The Spirit of Ruth Award was created to recognize Sigma Alpha Alumnae who
embody the spirit of Ruth through active involvement, leadership, and commitment
to the field of agriculture.

Recipients of this award demonstrate the ideals of Sigma Alpha by living the four
pillars: Scholarship, Leadership, Fellowship, and Service in their personal and/or
professional lives.

Nominate a sister for the Spirit of Ruth Award today! We’d love for you to nominate a fellow alumna who has gone above and beyond for Sigma Alpha and as a professional woman in agriculture for this prestigious honor today. Nominate her for the Spirit of Ruth Award! Two winners are chosen each year, and nominations close on September 30th, 2026.
