2027 National Convention

Something BIG is coming!

July 21-25, 2027 | Austin, Texas

The road to 50 starts here. Our year-long 50th anniversary celebration kicks off at convention.

Registration Opens Soon!

This isn’t a sit-and-get conference

The Career Launch Academy is a “doing” conference. Agriculture professionals won’t lecture you; they’ll coach you. You’ll step into real scenarios, from interviews to career fairs, get feedback on the spot, and try again.

Practice. Feedback. Reflection. Improvement. Practice Again.

Confidence is built through experience, not observation.

Built for Sisters Ready to Launch

The Career Launch Academy is for sisters preparing for internships and full-time jobs. You’ll discover the experiences that make candidates stand out, and you’ll mingle with alumnae and industry professionals from across agriculture’s many career pathways.

You’ll leave knowing how to:

• Chart your course. Explore the experiences and Pillar Framework skills industry wants most, see where you stand today, and plan the experiences you still need.

• Build your personal brand and get industry feedback on your resume.

• Work a career fair. Research employers, prepare your pitch, and talk with industry professionals and recruiters.

• Hold your own in a group conversation without getting lost or taking over.

• Follow up like a pro, from thank-you notes to letters of application.

Two Tracks. You’ll Do Both.

After the opening kickoff, half of the convention starts with Interview Ready while the other half starts with Career Fair Ready. Then you swap. Sigma Alpha is inviting over 50 industry professionals and recruiters to participate in this year’s convention as coaches and mentors.

Interview Ready

1. Interview prep, cover letters tailored to the position description, STAR interviewing and a resume review with industry feedback and a discussion of the role AI plays in preparing

2. A one-on-one interview

3. Coaching and feedback

4. A second one-on-one interview, putting that feedback to work

5. A panel interview with feedback

Career Fair Ready

1. Research and prepare for career fairs

2. Two one-on-one conversations at a mock career fair

3. Coaching and feedback

4. A small-group conversation with an industry recruiter, career-fair style with feedback

The Emerald Banquet: The 50th Celebration Begins

The Emerald Banquet is our grand finale: we’ll recognize outstanding sisters and chapters, honor chapters celebrating milestone anniversaries, and launch Sigma Alpha’s 50th anniversary celebration. It’s the start of a year-long celebration of 50 years of changing women’s lives, and you’ll want to be in the room.
