Agriculture Advocate Award Nominations Needed
Do you have a favorite professor? advisor? mentor? Are they a woman? Do they have a sincere interest in agriculture? If so, your chapter should nominate them for the Agriculture Advocate Award. Agriculture Advocate Award Applications are due December 1st, 2011.
 
Welcome Kelly Lawler as Sigma Alpha's Leadership Seminar Coordinator
Kelly LawlerKelly Lawler is orginally from Hilmar, California and graduated from California State University, Chico in 2001 with a degree in Agriculture Business. She is an alumni and a founding sister of the Alpha Iota Chapter. During her tenure she served in numerous leadership roles, including chapter president. During college and then after graduation, she worked in the field of campaign finance. Since 2004, Kelly has owned and operated, The KAL Group, a professional campaign finance firm where she specializes in providing accounting and compliance support for local, state and federal candidates and political action committees.  Kelly and her husband live in Willows, California with their two children. In 2010, she served as a facilator for the Leadership Seminar where she enjoyed meeting and working with Sigma Alpha Sisters from all over the United states. Kelly is very active in her community through her involvement in Girl Scouts and Greater Federal of Women's Clubs. Kelly also serves on the Glenn County Medical Foundation Board, which provides fundraising and support to her rural county's only hospital.  In her spare time she enjoys scrapbooking and traveling with her family. 
 
Looking for 2012 Leadership Seminar Faciliators

Alumni! Here is an exciting opportunity to help support Sigma Alpha, travel the US and make money while doing it!

Sigma Alpha and Alpha Gamma Rho are looking for 4 talented alumni Facilitators to assist with the Leadership Seminars for spring 2012. Selected speakers will be paid $250 per seminar for a total $1000 for all four seminars for their time plus all travel costs will be reimbursed. It is also our intention that this experience can enhance your resume and help to further advance your professional career.

Expectations are that each speaker would lead several sessions at each seminar. Please be aware that there is a time commitment required. Your presence will be required for two training sessions in October and January, as well as the seminars themselves.

If you are interested in this position please send the Leadership Seminar Facilitator Application along with supporting materials as indicated to Lisa Campion. Applications will be accepted until June 15, 2011. The Leadership Seminar Steering Committee will conduct phone interviews with qualifying applicants. We are excited to provide this opportunity and hope you will take advantage of it.
